If it is mounted with screws then just remove the screws. If it is a locking ring, then the ring must be turned to remove than pump. The plate has screws and a retaining ring.
I have a 1998 Kia Sportage if it is the same, fuel pump is in the tank, however....you access it under the passenger seat! The whole seat comes forward, trap door with 4 screws to remove. Then you will see another set of 8 screws, remove them and pull the entire housing for the fuel pump out.
1.Reveal the access panel to the gas tank. 2.Lift up the access panel. 3.Remove the eight screws holding the assembly to the gas tank. 4.Move the ring counterclockwise and release the fuel pump assembly. 5.Pull the fuel pump assembly out of the tank, replace it with a new one. 6.Replace every thing you had to move or take out.
Are you talking about the FUEL-RAIL ASSEMBLY that the fuel lines attach to? If so, YES. There are one on each line that goes into the rail assembly.
Under your back seat you should find a cover bolted down with 4 screws and some wires going through it. Remove the screws and lift up the cover and you will have access to the fuel pump assembly. Disconnect the wires from the assembly. Depressurize the fuel system by cranking the engine over and loosen you fuel cap on the fuel tank. Disconnect the fuel hoses. Remove the screws holding down the fuel pump assembly - being careful not to break or drop any of the screws. Carefully lift the assembly up (be sure not to drop any dirt in the tank). Now, if you are replacing the whole assembly, just follow the process backwards to install. If you are replacing just the pump motor, you will have to remove the motor from the assembly and replace it with the new one (you will probably want to replace the filter also attached to the motor also).
where is the fuel filter on 2006 kia sportage
on a 2002 sportage it's on the left side (passenager side) near the fender above the axle mounted to the bodyanswerDisconnect the negative battery cable. Remove the retainers for the rear seat, then the rear seat cushion. Disconnect the harness connector from the fuel sender.Remove the fuel tank module screws, the fuel sender and the fuel filter.
I have a 93 but believe it would be the same. If you are replacing just the pump motor, you will have to remove the motor from the assembly and replace it with the new one (you will probably want to replace the filter also attached to the motor also).
