Its 15/16 in. Found it on a Dodge forum. I have a 2012 journey with the 3.6 L ENGINE. Just tried it. The 15/16 is correct. If you have the 4 cyl. engine its different
It is part of the fuel pump module in the tank. The tank has to be removed to access.
The oil filter is on the top side of the engine instead of below. For best access remove the duct from the air filter to the intake. It will not say oil filter but look for a cap under where the duct was that takes a 24mm socket to unscrew. Unscrew & pull out. the filter can be pulled from the cap. Replace the filter & o-ring that will be around the cap with Mopar Part number MO-744, Fram # CH10955, Purolator # L36135.

The oil filter for the 2011 Grand Cherokee is located on the top of the engine (center). There is a 4"circular cover that is lableled "oil filter access". In order to change the filter, you'll need a 15/16 socket. It's very easy to access but the filters are expensive in comparison to other vehicle's oil filters.
