Since 1492 when Columbus discovered some islands in the Caribbean
Supposedly, "In 1492 Columbus sailed the ocean blue" Most people agree he landed some where in the Caribbean, not on North America.
No the Caribbean is not in Africa but it do consist of Africans. As well as East Idians, Chinese, Syrians, Europeans. Its is a chanin of islands and some main lands that is washed by the Caribbean sea and its South of South America.
The Spanish started colonies in the Caribbean, Mexico and Central/South America in the early sixteenth century.
Arabs did enslave africans long before the europeans, however the europeans did bring chattell slavery to north America, where it evolved and became the peculiar institution that later begat Jim crow....
1492. Columbus actually discovered the Caribbean, not America. However, we give him credit because he was close. He actually was horrible at navigating. He thought he was going to Asia.... America is actually named after Amerigo Vespuci (that spelling might be incorrect) if you were curious :)
Because no one in the Americas had immunity against smallpox, a disease brought by Europeans. This resulted in the death of most of the Native American population throughout the 16th century.

Africans were transported to the Caribbean by Europeans and Americans as part of the slave trade. The Caribbean was a pit-stop of sorts for slaves on the way to America. This allowed the ships to stock up on food and supplies before sailing up the coast to sell their cargo.
