Dappy's dad Byron and Tulisa's dad Steve are brothers and they were in Mungo Jerry. Byron had a recording studio and Dappy decided he wanted to make music so he got with Fazer, a friend who he met when he was 7 at karate lessons and they realised they needed a singer. Dappy knew Tulisa could sing so he asked her and the rest is history.
