Producing and manufacturing weapons, ammunition, artillery, machinery, etc. They practically just won the war for us.

The women's contribution was very significant to Britain's war effort in World War 2 as the ladies had to step in and do the mens jobs whilst they were at war. The had to do their own housework plus things like working in the factories, making weapons and aircraft etc. working on the land and sometimes even in the military where some women actually got killed! The women did all sorts of jobs whilst the men were away at war so this is very significant!
Women that were in World War 2 did not fight in the war. The women did many of the other types of jobs such as being nurses and driving vehicles.
They went to work in factories and other jobs that were primary male jobs that went to war.

Well really they didn't actually fight in the war. But were many women were in the armed forces but they were limited to non combat duties medical, clerical, transportation & administrative mostly. Many more took up jobs in all sorts of industry because many of the men went to fight the war.
