Moof!
An icon in the Macintosh that is used to show an image's orientation on the page. Part dog and part cow and uttering "Moof" (moo - woof) when clicked, the dogcow became a cult symbol. When dropped in the first version of Mac OS X, users complained. The original icons for the Macintosh were created by Susan Kare. Clarus the dogcow (so known because it was undecided if the image represented a dog or a cow) makes a "Moof" sound (which is a bit of a woof with some moo mixed in).
