In Islam two annual occasions are celebrated as Id. They are:

* the occasion of end of Ramadan (the month of fasting), called Id-al-fitr, and * the occasion of Hajj (or Islam Pilgrim) days, called id Al-Adha. Muslims celebrate two Eids which is Eid-ul-fitr and Eid-ul-Azha. Eid-ul-fitr is after the month of fasting.

Ramadan - When people fast on the ninth month in order to know how the poor people's condition without any food.

Eid - Muslims are encouraged to dress in their best clothes and attend special Eid Prayer in the mosque. It happens after the month of Ramadan. They also receive presents from people. It is quite similr to Christmas because the christians are supposed to not eat anything on 24th of December to leave you starving till 25th of December when you have the big Christmas feast.

There is Ramadan (which is not exactly a celebration but people consider it to be). Ramadan is when people fast for 30 days, eating and drinking only in the morning and evening. Then there is Eid-ul-Fitr, which is the day after Ramadan finishes. Everyone feasts and celebrates. Then there is Eid-ul-Adha.

There are mainly two annual celebrations and one weekly celebration.

The two annual celebrations are:

  1. Eidul Fitr: this is on the first day of the 10th month in Islamic Lunar Calendar (called Shawwal) that marks the first day after the month of Ramadan and marks the end of Ramadan fasting.
  2. Eidul Aladha: this is on the period of 9th through 13th of the 12th month in Islamic Lunar Calendar (called Zu AlHegga) that marks the Hajj (or pilgrimage) celebration.

The weekly celebration is that of Friday praying in the mosque.
