I love riddles!! What kind? i have caught a spider with those exact same markings... the white "spot" on top of it's abdomen looks more like a white heart, and i found this spider in my yard in Sacramento, CA.... from what i have learned this spider is a Daring (or Bold) Jumping Spider... harmless and non aggressive supossedly...

The black spider with one white spot on its back is known as the Daring Jumping Spider. They are considered slightly dangerous with their bite.

A white spider that has a white body with a red spot might be a type of crab spider. If it is found primarily outdoors like in a garden, this is perhaps a crab spider. The crab spider is a distant relative to the tarantula and its bite is venomous, but not fatal to humans.

Is it a white orb? In that case it would be an egg sack. If it is actually a white spot it cold be a wolf spider. I am sure another user could provide a more detailed answer but I have seen wolf spiders with white spots.

The bold jumper, Phidippus audax, is one of the most common and conspicuous of the jumping spiders. It is black with a distinct irregular orange to white spot on the back of the abdomen. It can be found in gardens and around homes.

It is called the black widow spider (Referred to as the black widow), it is a spider with a strong neurotoxin. With respect to the body size, they have longer legs and smaller abdomen. They are usually dark brown, has yellow stripes, and a yellow hourglass spot.

I think that I just caught the same spider, it is a "Daring Jumping Spider." does yours have green/blue looking "Fangs" ? because that is definitely the one.

It's most likely the common "Daring jumping spider," Phidippus audax. It's completely harmless.
