Identity vs. Role Confusion
Erikson's theory does not explain the altenative way for child to take out after his or her caregive have left the home. Erickson was a student of Sigmund Freud so all the stages about the development he developed from Sigmund theory. He was not elaborate whether his stage of development sequential or not.
Erikson's theory is centered on the social development of humans. Each stage of development, for a total of 8 stages, is centered on a crisis including two poles. It is a turning point at which the ego can be strengthened, or made more vulnerable. For example: * Young Adulthood (19-40 years) * Psychosocial Crisis: Intimacy vs. Isolation * Virtue developped : love Skinner's theory is centered on learning, or more precisely, on operant conditioning, in which a person's or an animal's behaviour is reinforced through the use of consequences. Ex: A rat that learns to press a lever to receive sweetened water drops.

The fifth stage of Erik Erikson's theory of psychological development is identity versus role confusion and it occurs during adolescence, from about 12-18 years. During this stage, adolescents search for a sense of self identity, through an intense exploration of personal beliefs and values.
Erikson constructed Psychosocial Development Theory. This theory has 8 stages. Each is vital to the Psychosocial development of a human. Trust vs. Mistrust Autonomy vs. Shame and Doubt Initiative vs. Guilt Industry vs. Inferiority Identity vs. Identity Confusion Intimacy vs. Isolation Generativity vs. Stagnation Integrity vs. Despair If you don't succeed in one, it affects your social attitude dramatically for the negative.
trust vs. mistrust
Theories of development? Freud's theory of development was labeled as "psychosexual." The conflicts children had to resolve were sexually based, with stages such as oral, anal, phallic, latency, and genital. Erikson's theory of development was labeled "psychosocial." It pertained more to social environment and conflicts in a social stage. These stages focus on social themes such as trust, competence, and intimacy.
trust vs. mistrust
Erikson's late adulthood stage is referred to as Ego Integrity vs. Stagnation. The virtue being developed at this stage is Wisdom. Stagnation is seen in Middle Adulthood (Generativity vs. Stagnation)
Erickson's theory or stages of psycho social ultimately involves those whom an individual interacts with during each stage in life. That Interaction and experience is the determining factor in how an individual develops in following stages.
