The most Eastern state.
The US state that sees the sun rise first is Maine. The best places to watch the sun rise are from Cadillac Mountain and Eastport.
Newfoundland, Canada is the first province to see the sun rise in North America.

Assuming you are asking "In which of the United States is the sunrise first visible?", the answer is Maine, at East Quoddy Head, the easternmost point in the United States.
Every state! But, I have been to Pennsylvania a couple of times before, and every time I'm there I see the sun rise; it's beautiful. Also, I heard that out west in Colorado and Wyoming you can see it too. You would have to be on the country side of all of these states to see it rise over the horizon. Also, I'm from Germany; so Pennsylvania is great for me because alot of people speak German, Dutch, or some kind of Scandinavian language; so I can understand what they say most of the time. Hope this helps! Tschüß
Newfoundland sees the sun first
The sun rises in the East, so the more easterly state, Massachusetts, will see the sunrise before Michigan.
Good question. The state that is the furthest east which would be the state of Maine. In the summer I would say Maine would see the sunrise first. However, in the winter, the further you go north, the later in the day the sun rises. So it may be seen earlier in a more southern state before it is seen in Maine. I'm not sure. I'm going to check it out. Check the local sunrise times for dec 21st (the day with the shortest daylight time of the year) in seacoast towns from Maine to Florida. It may surprise us.
Yes, because the population is rising and more people see it and want to do it.
