There are a number of jumping spiders that are orange and black such as phidippus whitmani, phidippus cardinalis, and phidippus pulcherrimus. Others that are orange and black are castianeira amoena and misumenoides formosipes.
Phidippus audax
It isn't a spider at all. It is an insect masquerading as a spider. I live in Tennessee and on June 19 encountered one on my porch. I killed it and the "body" fell off. On further inspection I found it only had 6 legs.
It could be a Phidippus audax. I live in Dallas and just terminated one in my bedroom on orders from my wife. I didn't know what kind it was but did a search on the web. Google that name and see if the pics match your spider.
