A shrine to mark the death and heroism of Stonewall Jackson is located in Virginia. He died about ten days after the US Civil War Battle of Chancellorsville from friendly fire. The frame house where Jackson died is the main feature of the Jackson Shrine and is located five miles from Interstate 95 via State Routes 606 and 607. The house is plainly furnished with a bed and blanket with a clock on the mantel. The original clock still works. The other room there is furnished as a doctor's room where Jackson was treated for his wound. He died on May 10, 1863.
