It was mostly fought in the South, but I'm not sure in what state the majority was fought in. About half of the major battles were fought in Virginia and Tennessee. However, the battles that formed the "turning points" of the war were in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, and Vicksburg, Mississippi. The first battle was in Charleston, South Carolina and the last major battle was in North Carolina.
The Civil War was fought throughout much of the United States, but predominantly in the Southern states. Virginia had many battles. There were many engagements along the edges of the Confederacy, many at sea. From Pennsylvania south, there were battles in all of the states. There were even naval engagements all the way to the east close to the coast of Europe.
It was half of the war. Without it, there was no war.
West Virginia
The most publicized are the Battles of Midway, Iwo Jima, and Okinawa. The Battle of Imphal in India stopped Japanese expansion towards the middle east. The Battle of the Coral Sea stopped Japanese expansion towards Australia. The Naval Battles around Guadalcanal were the most vicious sea battles in Naval History, and there were a half dozen of them fought around those islands.

The battles of Lexington and Concord in Massachusetts are considered to be the first battles of the American Revolutionary War. They were fought on April 19, 1775. The Declaration of Independence was adopted on July 4, 1776, so fighting had been in progress for 14 and a half months.
If the south had won the war about half of the united states wouldn't exist currently. The south became a separate country before the civil war, Mainly the north fought to unite everyone again.
They won lots of battles and lost lots of battles over two and a half thousand years.
That would never fit here-not even for one side (confederate or union) each state had half a dozen or more regiments on each side. see wikipedia list of civil war regiments by state or see "Civil War Archive-Regimental Index"
one half of everyone? no thats not posipal lol but srsly no
In the Battle of the Labyrinth, Percy fought Antaeus, his half-brother.
