- They wanted to take advantage of the fact that they were fighting on their own land.
British Strategy
- They wanted to take New York and sever the troublesome New England colonies from the rest
American Weakness
- raising funds for supplies (shoes, blankets, etc.)
- inexperienced soldiers
- had to create and sustain a military force from scratch
British Weakness
- The war was expensive(shipping troops ,supplies ,etc.)
- large amount of soldiers were lost in battle
- fighting on unknown land
