Vocational and technical programs
The specific system of vocational and technical education in America differs from state to state and regions of the USA. Some states begin vocational and/or technical education in high school most often in the students 11th and/or 12th years. This system uses either an apprenticeship training or vocational/technical college program for which the student can earn high school credits while earning a degree, certificate of proficiency, or similar diploma. The same type of apprenticeship training or vocational/technical college programs are available to high school graduates or anyone desiring workforce-related training. The 2009 Stimulus Funding enabled many ARRA-funded year long retraining programs for unemployed or displaced workers.
the problems are the ineffectiveness of government policy, and insufficient funds to enhance the program.

A vocational education is training in an area. A dental assistant would be a vocational field. You are taught a job in 9-to a year in a vocational program. A private school in this area can be very expensive, but community college often offer the same training for less. A liberal arts education leads to a 4 year degree of a BA, so you are attending college/university. This leads to a profession.
To become a Licensed Vocational Nurse, one needs to have a high school diploma and a certificate for completing the training program. The training program takes one year to complete.
