If you mean, what states issue concealed carry permits, only two states don't issue permits, Wisconsin and Illinois (and D.C. but it isn't a state). In the remaining 48 states, a most issue to anyone that qualifies, but a few are what is called "may issue states" which means the local authorities decide who gets a permit and who doesn't.

Washington D.C. has always been the most strict about handguns, followed by California. As far as concealed carry goes, Wisconsin, Illinois and D.C. do not permit concealed carry, period. However, states such as California, New York, New Jersey, and Massachusetts are technically "may issue" states, it's practically impossible for an average citizen to obtain a concealed carry permit in these states.

Right-to-Carry laws allow citizens to carry concealed handguns in more than 30 states?

You didn't actually ask a question, but I'll try to give you some information. There is no single law that allows concealed carry in a bunch of states, HOWEVER, many states will recognize other states permits, and some permits are recognized in more states than others. For instance, if you have a permit from the state of Tennessee, you can legally carry in 37 or 38 states. Florida and a few others are the same. Addtionally, the state of Tennessee, as well some others, recognizes permits from any state in the U.S. Be aware however that each state sets its own rules for carrying handguns, so what is legal in one state may not be legal in another, even with a permit. For instance, in Tennessee, if you have a permit, you can carry a handgun openly, but some states, such as Florida, allow concealed carry only.

Do you have to conceal your weapon if you have a concealed weapons permit?

The simple answer is: No, a CCW is for concealment only. While you may not be prosecuted for inadvertently exposing the firearm, it could be grounds for you lose your permit to carry concealed. The complicated answer is: States all have diffrent laws pretaning to weapons. While a person may have a CCW, open carry is acceptable in some area. Some states do allow it, with or with out a permit. Others may allow it but complicate the issues by prosecuting people for inducing panic. Additional information: Some states, such as Tennessee, don't issue concealed handgun permits, but handgun carry permits. In Tennessee, it is legal, even though some people will tell you it's not, to carry a handgun openly if you have a permit, and the DA of the state has issued a memo stating that this is correct.

How many states you can carry a concealed gun in?
