Argentina only has one coast: the coast on the South Atlantic Ocean, the section called the Argentine Sea, along the continental shelf off the southeastern coast of Argentina, extending from the approximate latitude of Montevideo, Uruguay, southward to Tierra del Fuego, about 500 miles (800 km) north of Antarctica.

The seacoast includes the estuary of the Rio de la Plata, and various gulfs and bays such as Engaño Bay, Golfo Nuevo, Samborombón Bay, San Jorge Gulf, San Julian Bay, San Matías Gulf, and San Sebastián Bay. There are numerous named bays around Tierra del Fuego and Cape Horn, including Nassau Bay, which shares a name with a bay in Papua New Guinea.
