After you feed the robot bird to the snake, it slithers off. The next alert, from Carnival Costumes, brings you face-to-face with a robber. From this point, you are not getting alerts. When you surprise the robber at MacGuffin's, you get a key. Use the toy robot next door at Good Deals so you can enter the back room.
