Hera is Zeus wife and is played by Maggie smith in Clash of the Titans.She appears as a life like statue in the Temple when the hero Perseus Solves the Princess Andromeda,s riddle,the answer is found on a ring off Calibos which is Hera,s son who was cursed by Zeus and was to live in the swamps.This swamp is what the princess see,s in her dreams and therefore she sets a puzzle which is the ring of Calibos.In the ring she talks of three circles joining and the ring has three stones.Queen Cassiopeia is amazed as is everyone when Perseus produces the hand of calibos after making it to the swamp on his winged friend Pegasus,after flying to the swamps Perseus meets with Calibos and a fight ensues,Perseus cuts the hand of Calibos and presents to Andromeda and solves the riddle.Queen Cassiopeia then declares that the two will marry and declares that Andromeda will be the loveliest among the kingdom,even more radient than the Queen of the Gods Hera herself.After this proclamation the statue of Hera comes to life and for insulting her and making a mockery of her son the Goddess Hera demands the Life of Andromeda given up to the Kraken a sea monster.
