Candy wanted to talk to Lennie about the "Little bit o' land" Candy, Lennie and Georg planned to buy. Candy was busy calculating costs and profits and earnings, but was likely to have wanted to tell child-minded Lennie about the rabbits he wanted to tend to, as I don't think Lennie really understands about financing and such.
