What subjects were taught varied from to schooll to school. This is just the basics. School was split into two parts, primary and secondary as it is today. In Primary they would be taught to read, write and to carry out simple arithmatic.
In secondary there would be a much wider range of subjects, such as:
- Greek
- Sayings
- Poetry
- Homer and Vigil - Classic Poetry
- Music
- Geometry
This isn't a complete list, but it's the core of what they learnt, as well as reading, writing and arithmatic.
There was also college for the richer students as well.
