Grain, grain-by products and high-protein supplements are such supplements that can be given to cattle. Oilseed meals and animal and fish products (now banned due to BSE issues) are also good, as well as dicalcium phosphate, defluorinated phosphate, soft phosphate, sodium phosphate, ammonium polyphosphate, orthophosphates, metaphosphates, pyrophosphates, and tripolyphosphate.

Make sure you balance calcium and phosphate together for optimum health. Don't just feed phosphate alone. It should be balanced with calcium in a 2:1 to 7:1 calcium-phosphorus ratio.
