Sonar and depth charges, fuel for anti submarine frigates and destroyers.
During the Battle of the Atlantic, the goal of the German Navy was to prevent Great Britain from receiving food and military supplies and to prevent the United States from building up their military forces in England. By doing this, they hoped to force Britain to surrender and to prevent and invasion of Europe.
The Battle of the Atlantic was very important to both Britain and Germany because Britain needed to control the seas between itself ant the United States to be able to receive supplies from them. The Germans wanted the Atlantic because they knew that if Britain was unable to receive supplies for war, they would have to surrender.
the u boat attack from the germans
The Allies Bypassed the Atlantic to confront the Germans directly in Eourpe
US merchant vessels trying to ferry supplies to Britain across the Atlantic Ocean, and Germany's submarines trying to sink them before they reached their distination. That was the "Battle of the Atlantic."
The Atlantic Ocean
The British and the French vs. The Germans
The Germans as they sent U-boats into the Atlantic to sink allied ships so allies sent battleships in and the result A BATTLE / CONFLICT
The British and the French vs. The Germans
Basically the First Battle of El Alamien was when the Germans were driving the british out of libyia and into Egypt, the british lost the battle.
The Germans caused it because if the Germans got a hold of Newfoundland a province in the Atlantic they could then bomb America and take over America
the war at sea was very threatening for the british in ww2, as there were important campaigns such as the u-boat campaign, similiar to the one in ww1, were the german u-boats took out merchant ships carrying supplies for the british. The battle of the atlantic was another very threatening point, as if the germans had won then the british would have been starved into submission. Hoped this has helped! :D
