The shape itself of a torpedo, like Architeuthisor Mesonychoteuthis, does not give much advantage to a large shark attack.

On the other hand, the torpedo shape powered by the squid «jet propultion» does allow evasion rapid mouvement defence, which may play a significal advantage.

The Colossal Squid, as well as other large squids (like the Humboldt squid), are very agressive, and not an easy pray.

However, not much is scientifically known for sure about interactions between large squids and large sharks. Many sharks prey on squids, not always with success for sharks.

Even the Sperm whale can loose the battle against a very large Colossal squid...

This is still a theme of much debate in marine sciences.
