to make sure the temperature of the fluid in the radiator is cool enough
Plug a scanner into the ALDL port, then turn the ignition to "ON". The radiator fan should come on. If it does the relay is working. If the fan does not come on it doesn't mean the relay is necessarily bad. That could mean the relay is bad, or the fuse is blown, or the fan itself has failed.
It didn't come with one from the factory. Just an overflow hose running beside the radiator. So if you want to put one on it, mount it where ever you choose.
Unscrew the bolts that connect the fans 2 the radiator then unplug the plugs and it should come out..
front splash shield has to come off! then you can see the drain on the right bottom of radiator looking at it from front of car. you can use a Allen wrench to loosen the drain plug.
It is the radiator warning light. Usually it indicates low radiator fluid level. I have had this come on when I have had some minor radiator leaks leading to radiator coolant level going down.
Cooling fan is desgined to come on when coolant reaches 235 degrees Bad temperature sensor?
No
You may need to add water to the radiator or windshield washer tank
Remove the wiring harness or the fan motor belt, depending on the year of your Chevy Cavalier. Remove the fan motor retaining bolts. The fan motor will come off.
you have to remove the fan this takes a specail tool then you will drain the radiator with the plug that's on the bottom corner of the radiator next disconnect the upper and lower hoses it should come out
Yes, when the a/c is used the engine works harder which rises the temp of the engine then turn the fans on to cool the radiator.
