That's purely coz of system over heating or power supply issues. When your lap reaches high temperature it is programmed to shut down or restart as a safety measure. Make sure that the power connections are fine and the coolants are working.

Since you don't say which laptop you have - this is a general answer. On my Toshiba laptop - the power indicator glows orange if I've been using it on battery power instead of mains. It's an indication the battery needs charging - and usually reverts back to green when fully charged.
