The air resistance measured against speed is called the Drag coefficient. 9.8 m/s2 is the nominal acceleration on Earth due to gravity, so an object accelerating at that rate is not going too fast yet - once speed increases, drag coefficient will become a factor, reducing acceleration - everntually to the point where acceleration is zero - and velocity is equal to terminal velocity.

The friction on an object moving through water or air is?

Dynamic drag (in both air and water) resistance is proportional to the velocity squared, but due to its higher viscosity water offers a higher resistance force ( object and velocity being the same for both).

If the object and velocity doubles the KE of an object doubles true of false?

that is false as energy is velocity squared, or 4 times

In free fall when the air resistance is equal to the weight of the falling object we say that the object has reached velocity?

In free fall, when the air resistance is equal to the weight of the falling object, we say that the object has reached ________ velocity.

Air resistance depends on?

The velocity of a moving object....

Factors affecting movement?

Three factors that affect movement are friction, wind resistance, and velocity. Friction is the resistance that a single object encounters when moving over another object. Velocity is speed, and wind resistance is the opposing force on an object.

The speed an object reaches when the force of gravity is balanced by the force of air resistance?

That is the object's terminal velocity.

What must you have in a problem to adequately describe velocity?

Describe three situations in which a force changes the velocity of an object?

What can describe both the speed and direction of an object's motion?

the object's velocity

When an object falls through the air encounters air resistance its overall speed will be than if it had not encountered air resistance?

The resistance do obstruct the object. The object always travel slower with air resistance. Air resistance is higher with velocity and the object falling through air would have a limited velocity that it can't go through.

What is the force of gravity on an falling object the object reaches terminal velocity?

9.8 m/s squared?

What two things do the kinetic energy of an object depend on?
