He isn't from a territory he is from Sollara (can't remember how to spell that). You find out in Pendragon book 10: The Soldiers of Halla.

In the Pendragon series, Saint Dane is defeated in the tenth book. Bobby goes to Saint Dane's side of Halla (in this cause, dark Solara) and fights Saint Dane. Saint Dane continues losing his power ang gets weak giving the possibility for Bobby to kill him.

He went corrupt because he thought that just encouraging people wasn't enough. He thought he could do better. He thought that tearing down the bounderies of the territorries was the first step to a 'better Halla' so that's why. Saint Dane went corrupt with power from the place called Solara, Hallas spirit. Saint Dane created the flumes, to connect the territories. Saint Dane originally meant to do good in Halla, but went corrupt and got selfish. That's why Saint Dane is evil, if you don't understand, read book 10.
It is really important that you understand that the Hindenburg was meant 2 get destroyed. Saint Dane makes Bobby and the travellers think they are doing the right thing when really they aren't, in nearly every book the travellers help Saint Dane in some way by being on a territory( by being on zadda, Pelle a Zinj got assassinated along with the hope for peace.)
