Best Answer

Wheel and axle.

* Correction - The proper names for a pulley, which is a part of a set of "blocks" include the sheave (the wheel), the axle (supports the sheave which rotates around it), the thimble or terminal (a hook or loop), the cheek (to the side of the sheave), and when it is set up, it includes the line (the rope). Assembling the line properly through the blocks is called "reeving".

we have NO IDEA PEOPLE okay try to find cause we don't know.

You must be desperate to know, so let me help you.

a. Have you gone fishing and used a rod and reel. That reel is a complex form of a pulley.

b. Do you drive a car? There are pulleys on the fan, alternator, water pump and Power Steering reservoir and engine crankshaft. Instead of someone pulling on a rope, think of the fan belt as a rope. If you're wondering which of these accessories is doing the pulling; it's the engine, when it's running, that drives the accessories because the belt has sufficient tension.

c. Do you have pull drapes or venetian blinds in your home? Those cords are anchored at one end and strung over small pulleys. As you pull on the cord(s) the pulleys are spinning. If you looked at them closely, you will find that they are like a simple machine - wheel and axle.

d. Do you have a printer for your PC? Within your printer are many pulleys and wire ropes that move various parts as the wheels that feed paper and the ink jets. Don't take your printer apart; just take my word as I have completely stripped an inoperative printer for scrap metal recycling.

e. Now that you have an idea of where to find pulleys in your home, see if you can find some. I hope this has helped you.
