You can but you should not as it is best to keep things clean. There will almost certainly be some residue left after the moisture evaporated and that needs to be cleaned off first.

This problem now solved! -Cleaned battery terminals + took out fuse No.9 and cleaned same. Not sure which of these two things worked, but one did and now the seat belt reminder light operates normally and goes out as it should after a short interval.
if metal a duct cleaning company can maybe do it. if made from fiber board no way. the best thing hav'em cleaned and furnace checked for probs if things are properly maintained the probs should be minimal
