France, Russia and the British empire.
The countries involved in world war one were Britain, France, Russia, Germany, Austria-Hungary and Italy... these were split into the alliance system. Germany, Italy and Austria-Hungry made up the Triple Alliance and Britain, Russia, and France made the Triple Entente. This ensured that should one country fall into war the others would help. So when the heir to the Austria-Hungry throne is killed by a Serbian the others are automatically forced to help defend the countries. other reasons for the war were that Kaiser Wilhelm the King of Germany was extremely unstable and was jealous of Britains Empire he wanted to start a war.
It is commonly said that Italy changed sides at the start of World War 1. In 1882 the Italians joined the Triple Alliance with Austria-Hungary and Germany. However, Italy had made a secret pact with France in 1902, nullifying their alliance with Germany and Austria-Hungary. Italy felt that at the start of World War 1, Austria-Hungary had been the aggressor. The Triple Alliance was defensive in nature, and so, the Italians used that as an excuse to delay committing troops to the conflict. The Austro-Hungarians offered Italy the French colony of Tunisia in return for Italian neutrality. The French and British made a counter off, promising the Italians the province of South Tyrol, and land on the Dalmatian coastline. This swayed Italy's feeling in the favor of France and Britain, and they then joined the Triple Entente.
Great Britain, France, and the United States defeated Germany, Austria-Hungary, and the Ottoman Empire. Russia made a separate peace with the Entente powers a year earlier.
The sequence of peace negotiations of WWI: 1917: 9/12 Armistice between Romania and the Central Powers 15/12 Preliminary armistice between Russia and the Central Powers as the Russian empire was in collapse due to communist revolution 1918: 3/3 Peace treaty between Russia and the Central Powers in Brest-Litovsk 7/5 Peace treaty between Romania and the Central Powers in Bucuresti 29/9 Armistice between Bulgaria and the Entente 30/10 Armistice between the Ottomans in Turkey and the Entente 3/11 Armistice between Italy and Austria-Hungary 11/11 Armistice between Germany and the Entente Russia had left the Entente after the revolution and Western allied forces (mainly UK, US and Japan) began fighting on Russian soil on the side of the white forces against the Bolsheviks until 14/11 1920. 1919: 28/6 Peace treaty between Germany and the Entente in Versailles 10/9 Peace treaty between Austria and the Entente in St-Germain 27/11 Peace treaty between Bulgaria and the Entente in Neuilly 1920: 4/6 Peace treaty between Hungary and the Entente in Trianon 20/8 Peace treaty between Turkey and the Entente in Sèvres, not ratified 1923: 24/7 Final peace treaty between Turkey and the Entente in Lausanne The winning side was thus the Western alliance of the Entente: Britain with the commonwealth countries, France, Belgium, Japan, Brazil, USA, Italy, Serbia, Montenegro, Portugal, Greece, Siam and Nepal. Romania was also winning in the peace treaty. Yugoslavia was formed of different regions with Serbs, Croats and other ethnic groups. Poland, Czechoslovakia, Hejaz and Armenia were new countries through the peace treaties after fighting against the central powers. Military conflict arose though between Poland and the new Soviet Union 1919-1921, where borders were redefined at the peace treaty of Riga 1921. Finland and the three Baltic countries also gained independence from Russia after short wars of liberation 1917-1919. The formation of these 4 states were basically not a part of the peace treaties of WWI although the war made it possible. E.g. Finland's border with Russia was defined in the treaty of Tartu 1920.
The core of the Allied Forces of World War I was made up of the three Entente nations.
The Triple Entente consisted of France, Russia and Great Britain
France, England, and Russia.
Germany, Austria-Hungary and, purely nominally, also Italy.
The Triple Entente was a major part of World War One because these countries made up an entire fighting force. Germany and it's allies made up this group. The Triple Entente fought is also known as the Central Powers.
It made the triple alliance with Austria
Russia, France, and Britain (apex)
France, Russia and the British empire.
In World War 1, the Triple Entente was initially made up of Russia, France, and Britain. Later, they would be joined by Italy and then the US.Russia, The United Kingdom, and France.
In a way yes, and in a way no. The United States joined the war on the side of the Triple Entente but never officially joined the Triple Entente. The United States joined the war as an associated power. This meant the US was joining the war but wasn't joining all the alliances that had been made and had been used to drag the entire European continent into a war. The answer is no the US did not join the Triple Entente.
The Triple Entity was made of France and England, but the third country was Russia, and not Prussia. After working out agreements over their differences in Morocco and Egypt, England and France formed an entente. When Russia and England eventually solved their international problems, the Triple Entente was completed.
