The three common STATES of matter are solid, liquid and gas. An example of these sates would be:

H20 as a solid - ICE

H20 as a liquid - WATER

H20 as a gas - WATER VAPOR

There are two other states, very high temperature and very low temperature respectively: plasma and Bose-Einstein condensates.

You must understand that matter can be in any one of three PHYSICAL states, liquid, solid or vapor ( a gas ).

Changing physical states is not a chemical change, but a direct result of heat or cold application.

The types of matter that might be encountered in this Universe, regardless of the physical form or stste(solid, liquid, gas, plasma) are:

  • Normal Matter (Everything we observe in our normal world)
  • Antimatter (Like our normal matter but with positive electrons and negative protons etc.)
  • Dark Matter (A hypothetical type of matter distinct from baryonic matter)
