Spring Loaded fin assembly, Mass Explosion, Produces blast fragmentation and deep crater effects
conventional chemical bombs get their energy from the electromagnetic force of the 8 valence band electrons of the outermost S & P orbitalsnuclear bombs get their energy from the strong nuclear force that holds the nucleus of the atom togetherNote: both operate in accordance with E=Mc2, but as the strong force is several orders of magnitude stronger than the electromagnetic force several orders of magnitude more mass converts to energy in nuclear bombs than in conventional bombs.

Dynamite is used in bombs as it is an explosive substance.
General Purpose
Iron bombs are used today to separate them from atomic/flame/and smart bombs. During WW1 & WW2 there was only a need to use the terms fire bombs or general purpose bombs (High Explosive). During the Korean War, we had to separate the atomic bomb from fire bombs and general purpose bombs. During the Vietnam War, the same separations had to be termed. By the end of the Vietnam War in 1975, SMART Weapons had to be added to the ATOMIC, FIRE, GENERAL PURPOSE bombs...so the accepted term for General Purpose (High Explosive) bombs came to be known as IRON BOMBS; aka Dumb Bombs.
Answer The bombers carried bombs that had 3 general bype designations: GP General Purpose HE High Explosive Incendinary
The Stratofortress carried up to 108 750lb general purpose HE bombs. With the advent of todays smart bombs, those GPHE bombs might be called iron or dumb bombs.
During the Vietnam War the B52 Stratofortress often carried 108 750lb pound general purpose HE bombs.
yes
?pyroclastic flow, lava, ash, cinder, and bombs
Most deaths during eruptions occur during pyroclastic flows/surges during an eruption and volcanic mudslides (known as lahars) after the eruption.
Smart bombs are bombs fitted with a guidance system. These function with the use of radio, infrared, laser or satellite. The purpose of a this guidance system is to achieve greater accuracy.
Continue striking at Midway Island (with general purpose bombs) or arm with torpedos and go "carrier hunting."
3 types - High explosive (aka General Purpose) and Incendiary and "Butterfly" anti personnel bombs. Bombs came in various sizes from 100 to 10,000 pounds the most common being 500 and 1000 pounders.
During the Vietnam War the B52 Stratofortress was a SAC heavy bomber (Strategic Air Command). The best thing about it was the NVA couldn't shoot it down because it flew so high and dropped 108 750lb general purpose high exposive bombs on a single pass. The SAM ground defense teams in North Vietnam could shoot it down, but not the NVA in South Vietnam. One B52 dropped more bombs than ten WWII B17 bombers. Vietnam's "general purpose" HE bombs are today called iron or dumb bombs due to todays SMART BOMBs.
