There are a number of tools that are needed to find the density of a rock. You will mainly need a scale to measure the weight and the volume of the rock. Divide the mass of the rock by the volume to find the density.
Find out the amount of water the rock displaces. Weigh the displaced water. Weigh the rock. The density will be the number that results from dividing the weight of the rock by the weight of the water.
A way to find the density of a rock is to first of all find its volume, then weigh it for its mass. Once you have these two, it is a simple matter of dividing the mass of the rock by its volume.
To find the volume, you can take a water container that has measurements on its side, and put some water into it, enough to cover the rock if you were to place the rock within it. Hopefully you will be able to find a water container large enough. Anyways, you can measure the volume of water, then place the rock inside and measure the volume again. Subtract the volume of water without the rock in it, and you then have the volume of the rock. You should have an answer in liters or milliliters.
Then, simply weigh the rock in grams or kilograms, and then the rest is already explained in the first paragraph.
well first of all u nead to know wath density means and secon of all do those steps
The tool is the triple-beam-balance (Mass) divided by the graduated cylinder (volume.)
1. a rock
2. a graduated cylinder or overflow cup
3. water
4.graph paper
5.balance
6.googles
7. ruler
a scare or cylinder
Hydrometer is used in batteries to measure density. A float tells you the density using displacement.
a graduated cylinder and a balance

Well, to determine the density of anything, you'd simply have to measure the volume and the mass. Then, you would divide VOLUME / MASS or, if the mass is smaller, MASS / VOLUME. And there is your density. That formula(rule) goes for anything you need to know the density of, not just a simple glass of milk.I hope that helped and you can ask more about how to measure the volume and mass, too.(Mass: Weigh it in GRAMS.)(Volume: Length X Width X Heighth)
