On 17th April 1982 Queen Elizabeth II signed The Canadian Charter Of Rights And Freedoms. Some of the fundamental freedoms enshrined in this act are freedom of conscience and religion, freedom of expression including freedom of the press and freedom of peaceful assembly and association.
