The three things that Buddha understood after he was enlightened were:
Hey, The Three Jewels of Buddhism are: The Buddha (enlightened one); The Dharma (teachings); The Sangha (community of practitioners). I hope that is helpful. Thanks
The number of people who are fully realized enlightened Buddhas is unknown. Since we all have a Buddha spirit in us, we can all become fully enlightened. Therefore the number of potential Buddhas is the same as the number of people alive.
Buddhism began about 2500 years ago. Buddha means Enlightened One. The name was given to a prince named Siddhartha Gautama. Buddha taught for 45 years the Three Universal Truths, Four Noble Truths, and The Eightfold Path.
It is recommended that you study the Buddhism and its teachings before making a decision. Next, you must take the Three Refuges: the Buddha, his teachings, and the community of enlightened beings. It is recommended to take refuge with a monk.
For the first years of his life, Siddhartha lived a sheltered life and questioned nothing. He only left the palace to search for answers to suffering at the age of 29 and between the ages of 29 and 35 he was still searching for answers. He only became the Buddha when he became enlightened (the Buddha means, 'the enlightened one') and enlightenment does not come instantly. It takes work. you have to recognise the Three Universal truths and the Four Noble Truths and follow the eightfold path.
1. The birth of Buddha (as prince Siddhartha), 2. The Enlightenment, 3. The Passing away of Buddha
The Three Jewels are also known as the "Gachchamis". The first of these, Buddha, is stated as Buddham, sharanam, gachchami and means "I go to the feet of the Awakened One". The Buddha, as referenced in this jewel, can be taken to mean the historical Buddha, or to mean the Buddha's nature or ideal within everyone. Buddha can also be taken to mean Buddhahood or the attainment of Buddhahood, meaning finding the pinnacle of your spiritual and life potential. The name the Three Jewels or the Three Gems also comes from the Buddha, who was known as the Diamond Mind. i spent a long time typing this so i hope it helped lol love Melkit (MY USERNAME NOT REAL NAME)

The Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha.
The image of the Buddha represents the first of the three jewels, Buddha or the enlightened mind. Buddhist venerate images of Buddha because to them in their minds it represents the Living Buddha, because people do not posses the Karma to see a Buddha they believe instead that the image is that of Buddha. It is almost like paying memorial to a lost one by lighting a candle or putting some flowers down in front of their image or grave. It has got nothing to do with idolisation or worship.
