Not to be picky but the Nikkei isn't a Stock Market. It's an index for the Tokyo Stock Exchange which opens in the morning from 9:00 to 11:00 am and the afternoon from 12:30 to 3:00 pm. This means the first session opens at 4PM PST and closes at 6pm PST.
It's not the DOW that opens and closes it's the NYSE.
The Japanese stock market is called NIKKEI.
