The first clue was released at 8am GMT on July 31st 2011.
Pottermore was in beta from July 2011 until April 2012. During this time nobody could register for the site. It opened on 14th April 2012.

This question is impossible to answer. The 31st of July was a Friday so the logical conclusion is you saw a syndicated episode. No one can know where you are, what time you saw it & on what channel you saw it? Check the local listings for wherever you are & for whatever channel you saw it on. or Describe the episode you saw.
