What time should you start dating?

Opinions differ about this question, even the children/teenagers themselves have varying answers as seen below.

At any age their parents say, however don't keep it a secret from your parents. Sometimes...believe it or not parents can help with that sort of stuff because they used to date when they were young as well.

I would say when you're a teenager or in highschool, but if you're dating young go out with a group or friends and not just with one person.

I would say 11 or 12 is a good time to start dating. I started dating at 11 so I think its fine, but if you are on about a serious relationship I would say 16, and if you are on about calling the boy or girl your b/g friend and just going out to the Movies or something I would say 11, but to be honest its really up to your parents.

Some people wait until Puberty. Some people start dating at 13, others at 16 or older, but this comes down to your choice. Some people even prefer not to date anyone except when they start a real relationship.

I think that you can start dating once you know what love is. But you may have to see first hand what love is, it really depends on the type of relationship that you are looking for.

The age for a female to begin dating is in her high school teenage years around the 10th grade, but depending on what you and your parents decide it could be in the 9th grade. But for me personally, I think the perfect age range for the teenage female to begin having a boyfriend and going out places is from 15 up.

It does not matter what age, all that matters is that you care about that girl/guy. But I would say no younger then 11.

The appopriate age for a teen to start dating should really be determined by them, they should understand the concept of dating and make sure they can handle the affects that come from having a boyfriend/girlfriend both good and bad .

If you are the parent, get in touch with the boy/girlfriend's parents to make sure they know all the facts. Most teenage dates do not result in sexual activity, but it is important that they are aware of the risks and issues.

Listen, if you like somebody, the first step is to get to know the person. Second, you have a friendship with them. Then third, if you're old enough, you ask him/her out. But if you're not old enough, either wait, or just let the love pass. You're probably not going to like the same person your entire life!

I started dating when I was still a single digit, nobody can tell you not to date someone and nobody can tell you to date, it's your choice and it's your life, so have fun with the choices you make.

Most people actually start to have serious relationships at about 16 or 17. However, it's totally up to your parents/guardian to decide if you're mature enough. Most teens think they are, but in reality, a lot of them aren't. Talk to your parents about it, and tell them you want to start dating. If they decide you're too young, don't worry! You can still hang out with guys/girls.

I think it is a good age to start dating in middle school.

It depends on the maturity of the child. Some children are dating at the age of 11, that is much too young. I would say anywhere from 13 to 16.

Really, there is no specific age for dating. When you feel confident in being able to handle a relationship, you are ready. It is better when you are older because you can handle things better and you can think about bigger steps in a relationship. When your young all you can think about is holding hands or whatever. But, as you get older you think about marriage.

I say you should start dating in your freshman year of highschool. That is when dances become to social life. Girls will always want a guy for all dances. Most girls try to go to all the dances (but that empties your pockets really easily). Dances are also the perfect opportunity to ask girls that they have a crush on to go on a date with the guy. So, high school is the perfect time to start.
