Chuck Norris originally studied Tang Soo Do (which later became Taekwondo) and Chun Kuk Do, both of which are Korean systems of karate. He currently is considered a Taekwondo practitioner.
He studied in South Korea while stationed there with the Air Force. He currently holds an 8th Degree Black Belt Grand Master in Taikwondo. Mr. Norris was six-year (consecutive) World Karate Champion.
On July 1, 2000, Norris presented the Golden Lifetime Achievement Award by the World Karate Union Hall of Fame.

∙ 13y agoChuck Norris studied Tang Soo Doo (which later became Taekwondo) and Chun Kuk Do, both of which are Korean systems of Karate, in Korea in the 1950s. Here in the United States, he worked as a Karate instructor and won several Karate championships between 1968 and 1974.
In 1997, he became the first westerner to be awarded the rank of Eight-Degree Black Belt Grand Master in Taekwondo.
On July 1, 2000, Norris was presented the Golden Lifetime Achievement Award by the World Karate Union Hall of Fame.
