It must run from a boot disk in order to boot a PC and test memory on that PC.
PC boot to ? A PC boots to its OS. The OS Can be installed in a pendrive or a cd but usually intalled in hard disk so that it creates no problem.
If you have a USB drive and your BIOS supports booting from a USB device then try that.
The PC is unable to locate the drive with the boot up data (information) indicating the main drive is either disabled, not working, or there is a disk in the CD/DVD drive. All PC's at initial setup ask the users to created a 'back up' disk and that is what should now be used to boot the system.
Boot frozen means that whenever a PC restarts, it will be reverted to a pre-defined state. In other words, if you start you start a boot frozen PC, then delete some files, then the next time you restart the PC, the files will be back.Boot thawed simply means that the PC is not boot frozen.
If on a PC, create a new partition on your main hard drive. Install the second OS on the new partition. On your next reboot it should ask you which partition you wish to boot to.

A PC is recommended rather than a Mac With Boot Camp because it will not require you to run boot camp.
You would not be able to boot your PC, or the PC would boot on a drive other than expected. Or you might get the BIOS message that the operating system is missing.
