im not getting fire to the spark plugs but the distributor is getting fire what do i do please help
The easiest way to find out is to remove the wire from the spark plug and hold it about 1/4 inch from ground (the engine block is good) while someone cranks the engine in short bursts. If you are getting spark you should see a blue spark jump fromt the wire to the engine block. You might want to check all spark plug wires while you're at it. If you want to check the spark plug while you're at it, remove the spark plug and attach it to the end of the wire before checking for spark. If you get spark through wire but not through the spark plug, the spark plug is bad.
it could be a number of things...im no diesel mechanic but check your spark plugs and spark plugs wires, it seems your battery is ok if the car turns over...it may not be firing if the car doesnt start...so my 1st guess would be to check if ur getting any spark at the spark plugs there is only glow plugs not spark plugs. were talken bout a diesel right?
if you are not getting spark in your coils iti could be the crankshaft sensor im not a mechanic lol but i have the same problem with mine im trying to find out how to install the sensor i replaced the coils and the ignition module and still no spark
make shure the spark plug is getting spark and u have enoguh compression in the enigine. im 14 years old and i kno alot about it for my age
I had to replace a valve on my 1982 toyota pickup with a 22r 2.4l just a few days ago and now it wont start i check for spark and i got that so then i made sure i was getting fuel and im getting that to me the timing looks like its where it should be so im lost help me please
Check the fuses
Check the threads for the spark plug, Im betting it was either crossthreaded or not tightened enough and worked itself out.
check the pink wire to coil maybe's brocken
check to see if there is voltage to coils with key on engine off. if no voltage check ignition switch, if switch has no power going through it then there will be no voltage to any part of the engine. hope this helps ya!! also check all fuses in fuse boxes,
Check to see if ur getting spark. If not, could be your coil or the "ignitor" inside the distributor.
Not really sure of the make, but do you have an ign. module? check that. Also any crank sensors. Unless its just a broken wire.
