Ford recommends changing your transmission fluid every 30,000 miles
BMW transmissions are "lifetime fill" meaning that they don't recommend changing the transmission fluid.
To be certain of your car's well-being, it is advised that one takes major precaution in the frequency for changing a car's transmission. It's stated that every 30,000 miles should be the signal to bring your car for service in changing the transmission.
My mechanic says between 70 and 80 thousand miles. Your mechanic is wrong. Kia recommends changing it every 105,000 miles. Warning: This is an interference engine. It would appear you need to find another mechanic. He is just making money off you by replacing the belt more often than need be.
In a 1999 Hyundai Elantra, the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) is typically located on or near the transmission. The specific location may vary slightly depending on the exact model and transmission type, but here is a general guideline for locating it: Locate the Transmission: First, you will need to locate the transmission. The VSS is usually attached to or near the transmission because it measures the speed of the vehicle based on the rotation of the transmission's output shaft. Search Near the Transmission: Once you've located the transmission, start looking around the housing of the transmission for a sensor. The VSS may be screwed into the transmission case or attached to it in some way. Consult a Repair Manual: It's a good idea to consult a repair manual for your specific make and model of the 1999 Hyundai Elantra. These manuals often provide detailed diagrams and instructions on how to locate and replace various components, including the VSS. Follow Wiring: You can also follow the wiring harness that leads from the VSS. This harness will typically connect to the vehicle's Engine Control Module (ECM) or the instrument cluster. Please keep in mind that the exact location may vary between different trim levels and transmission options within the 1999 Hyundai Elantra model range. If you're not comfortable locating or working on the VSS yourself, it's advisable to consult a professional mechanic or refer to the repair manual for your specific vehicle to ensure accurate identification and replacement. There is ma transmission control module somewhere in the vehicle. Also the transmission itself may have bad clutches and the solenoids keep failing because they are not responding correctly. If that happens that often, obviously the mechanic does not know how to trouble shoot the tranny any further and it's time to find a new one(mechanic that is!)
Some require no maintenance at all. I would recommend changing it when the clutch is replaced.
On my 2000 automatic 4WD, I have to drop the pan to change it. It is designed as a sealed transmission and is not supposed to need changing all that often.
Does the 2007 Hyundai Elantra have a power steering pump? How do I check the fluid level? How often should it be replaced? Thanks.
Every 60,000 or 48 months
Although Toyota says it never needs changing, it is a simple process similar to changing the engine oil. The transmission pan has a drain plug which makes it easy. I recommend a drain and fill every 20k miles. You will notice a difference in the shifting and it will add miles of problem free miles to the transmission. Be sure to use the factory recommended fluid, not a universal fluid.
i dont think there is one just a drain and fill. if there is a spring and ball in the drain pay attention to how they come out. i blew my trainy by not putting them in right. Honda Accords do not have transmission fluid filters. That is why they recommend changing the transmission fluid so often. If you can change your own oil, you can change the transmission fluid - it is easy.
