Only an antibiotic will clear up the infection. After it is cleared up you should increase your fluid intake, wipe front to back, wear cotton panties instead of synthetic, and remove your wet swimsuit as soon as possible to prevent further infections.

Treating Bladder Infections?

Bladder infections can cause pain and burning upon urination, pelvic pain, an increase or decrease in urinary output, and sometimes blood in the urine. Treating bladder infections typically includes the administration of oral antibiotics and drinking plenty of water. Cranberry juice may also help alleviate symptoms of bladder infections as may taking an over-the-counter anti-inflammatory medication. Systemic symptoms of bladder infections include fever, chills, nausea and muscle pain. Although antibiotics are effective in treating symptoms of bladder infection, they can cause side effects such as nausea and diarrhea. The entire course of antibiotics must be completed to make sure that the bladder infection has resolved.

If I've had bladder infections and currently have a yeast infection is it possible that this caused a missed period?

No, a bladder infection won't cause a late or missed period. But antibiotics, which are usually given for a bladder infection, can cause the pill not be as effective. If you are late or missed a period you should see a doctor for a pregnancy test. Or take a home test. Anytime you are on antibiotics, you need to use a back up method of birth control.
