crack the engine block and oil mixes with water or antifreeze.
Yes, on most cars it will.
i'd say it over heats simply for the fact it's on the engine and close enough to absorb the heat so it's technically not over heating it's just getting hot from the engine being so close to it
bad thermostat or bad heat gasket
Not much. It'll smell a bit as th engine heats up untin the excess has burned off..
put on ac in car and over heats
as it works or moves it gets hot and eventually over heats. think of it as a human running the person eventually gets hot
When the thermostat in your car fails it usually fails to open which in turn does not allow radiator water to pass through the engine and cool it, so the engine over heats.
That is an engine block heater. It heats the engine coolant.
over heating of the engine...if the aluminum engine over heats it can warp...not a good thing...could crack the block...sometime the gasket doesnt hold a good seal and just goes bad...it just happends and its not that easy of a fix depending on the cars engine
Many times after a Jeep cooling system is repaired, air bubbles trapped in the system will cause a overheat situation. If it is a 4.0l, with the engine cool remove the heater hose that is connected to the thermostat housing and fill the cooling system with the engine off. When coolant starts coming out of the engine side the system is almost as full as it gets.
Losing a small quantity over a considerable time is not unusual, but if you are using alot like over a week say, then something definitely wrong.Check for small leaks around all hoses and if engine heats up too quickly or if there are signs of over-heating.
