try to ignore them without them knowing, if you see them in your pereferal vison, walk the other way, pretend you didnt see, if you make eye-contact with them, then they will know you are trying to ignore them.
if (god forbid) they ask you out to a dance or date, tell them the TRUTH. you will have a terrible time if your going somewhere with a person you hate, and trust me, the guilt of saying no is not nearly as bad as the feeling of going with a person you dont like.
dont flirt, whatever you do, that will only make them want to talk to you more. the most effective way of telling someone to go away is to tell them straight out you need some space. or secretly blow them off until they get the message.
