If too much water is added to a commercial cookie dough mix, it is impossible to make proper cookies. One solution would be to buy an additional mix of the same type, and combine it with the original mix to obtain the proper proportion of wet and dry ingredients.

It all depends on preference. Pre-made cookie dough tends to be all the same, cookie cutter dough. Hand made dough has its own special touch. All recipes sued for dough are different, and may not taste the same. You dough may be much better than pre-made cookie dough. The question is impossible to answer. Oreos are a commercially produced and distributed cookie that cannot be compared meaningfully with home-baked cookies. It could be argued that home-baked chocolate chip cookies are far more popular than any store-bought cookie.
