Then once a day to make sure none have died and mom is feeding them (full round bellies and sleeping). Wash your hands with unscented soap before you check the babies so you do not leave any unwanted scents on the babies. After they open their eyes (10 days) you will be able to see them peaking out of the nest without disturbing them.
