There are several options. You can take the dog to a vet, which is more highly recommended, seeing as a vet would know what to do. But if your dog is in real pain, then you should need to help the dog. It may be a bit disgusting but if it helps, then its better than to let the poor guy suffer. Take a spoon and gently scrap the poop off his buttox, and then feed it milk. Only time will tell because milk will soften it up and allow it to release.

THE SOLUTION... Well, this is awkward but it happened to my dog too. Take the hose and aim, not directly but like sideways at the poop and spray off. If that does't work, see the vet.

When a dog is eating stool, it is a behavior issue, not a nutritional issue. Often it's the texture they like rather than the taste. The best thing to do is pick up any stools as soon as your dog goes. This also helps prevent the spread of parasites and diseases, example: worms or giardia

Also you can get a product called Forbid from your vet. It's a powder you sprinkle onto the dogs food to make their stool taste so horrible even they wont want it in their mouths. After a few tries of this, usually they will stop trying to eat the stool.
