lets name your first friend X and second friend as Y
explain as calmly as possible to X that you being friends with Y wont affect your friendship ! and still remain friends with both
Or
ask X why exactly you shouldn't be friends with Y!
then find out more based on the reason..
Or
here you need to weigh down the importance of each one to you..
now you need to decide if X is more important to you..
Or if Y is more important to you..
if you can come to a rational decision.. then go ahead and choose not to speak to the other..
However that method is sad since you lose your friend!
